Are you a trainee or consultant with an interest in medical education? Want a quick, easy and fun entry for your portfolio?
Then please join us as faculty for the upcoming Severn MRCPCH Mock Exam for South West trainees sitting their clinical exam in June. This is being run by the PACER (Paediatric Clinical Exam Revision) South West team and will be held at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children on Saturday 17th May 2025.
We are looking for:
- Examiners – Consultants and ST4+ registrars who have passed their clinical exam to examine the trainees and provide feedback. Any speciality is welcome, especially General Paediatrics. Previous experience in teaching is desirable but not essential.
- Helpers – Open to any grade. Role will include helping time the stations, acting as a role player, and general set up. Especially helpful for those looking to sit their exam in the coming years as it will give you a behind the scenes look at how it works!
- Mentors – This is in addition to the examiner/helper role. Preferably trainees who have passed their exam in the last two years or consultants who are/have been examiners for MRCPCH. Will be allocated a small group of trainees to mentor and provide advice/answer questions.
The day will be split into two sessions, please indicate which (if not both) you would be able to volunteer for:
- Morning 0900-1230 – Clinical and Communication Stations
- Afternoon 1300-1630 – Video, History and Development Stations
All faculty will be provided with:
- Detailed scenarios and guidance on how the exam runs and is marked
- A certificate for your portfolio
- Lunch and refreshments
- Travel expenses if needed (parking is tricky so please take public transport if possible)
- Doctors in training can apply for study leave for the day and get a day in lieu off
SIGN UP HERE – Deadline 11th April 2025.
Many thanks,
From the PACER Team
