About PaedsHub
PaedsHub is a website for paediatric doctors working in southwest England.
The website can be accessed via the URL: https://paedshub.co.uk/
PaedsHub provides online training materials, curated resources relevant to paediatric training and practice, and methods for discussion between members.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you join PaedsHub we collect your name and email address. This is used to confirm your eligibility to use PaedsHub, set up your user account and to track your activities whilst using PaedsHub. We store course progress, including completion status, quiz scores, assignments and/or essay submissions (if applicable).
We may contact you by email (or any other contact method you provide) for the purposes of providing updates on PaedsHub developments which may include new features, content or suggestions for use. If you join any groups on PaedsHub (e.g. the creators group) you may receive further mailings in relation to your membership of that group. If you produce content for PaedsHub you may also receive feedback by email regarding your content.
You may also add further information or media to your profile which may include a biography and profile picture, however this is optional. We collect this data to encourage social interactions on the website. When you leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. When you complete a contact form we collect the data shown in the form which may also be submitted to PaedsHub administrators by email.
We may process and store personal data about your interactions using xAPI. We use the data to learn about how well the interactions are designed and how it could be adapted to improve the usability and your learning outcomes. The data is processed and stored on PaedsHub until further notice.
We may store the results of your interactions on PaedsHub until further notice. The results may contain your score, the maximum score possible, when you started, when you finished, and how much time you used. We use the results to learn about how well you performed and to help us give you feedback.
Media
All uploaded files are usually publicly accessible. We may restrict access to certain parts of the website to protect discussions but this should not be considered absolute. By uploading any media to PaedsHub you understand it may be accessed by anyone. This includes profile pictures and media uploaded to courses.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you visit the PaedsHub login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Who we share your data with
Data you provide to PaedsHub may be shared with Health Education England (via the School of Paediatrics for Severn or Peninsula) for the purposes of arrange educational events or materials, or confirming your identity.
Your personal data is accessible to PaedsHub administrators which includes paediatric trainees in the region.
If you provide feedback or comments these may be shared with other PaedsHub users and/or contributors to whom that feedback or comments are relevant.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Pages on PaedsHub may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on PaedsHub, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
