RCPCH Research events and awards update

RCPCH Research Awards:

The college are offering four research awards this year, including the GOSH-RCPCH Simon Newell Award for excellence in research, the RCPCH Lorber Award for the best scientific paper in paediatrics, the NIHR-RCPCH Paediatric Involvement and Engagement in Research (PIER) Prize, recognising exceptional patient engagement in NIHR Clinical Research Network studies and our newest award, Williams Syndrome Cooper bursary for the best scientific paper related to paediatric learning disability. Applications are now open and close in December.

One Year in Industry Placement

RCPCH in partnership with Vertex are delighted to launch of the second round of the Vertex Physicians in Pharma Programme (VPiPP), offering a one year fully funded industry placement for paediatricians in training in 2025. This placement is for clinicians in training who wish to enrich their curriculum and knowledge by understanding and experiencing pharmaceutical medicine. Find out more, application close November 2024.

From curiosity to discovery: research essentials for paediatricians in training

The online training event ‘From curiosity to discovery: research essentials for paediatricians in training’ on 3 December, aims to support paediatricians in training with little or no previous research experience to learn more about research. We will explore content related to the Progress+ curriculum’s quality improvement and research and scholarship domains. Find out more and register for the event.
