Integrated Care Systems (ICS) – info from the RCPCH

Integrated Care Systems (ICS) now have the statutory power and responsibility for planning and commissioning care for children and young people. It is vital that we understand this new framework so that we can make sure that children and young people get the care they need. The King’s fund provides a good summary of what ICS are: Integrated care systems explained | The King’s Fund (kingsfund.org.uk). The RCPCH has produced resource to help make sure the children and young people are engaged in development of your ICS: Children and young people’s engagement in your Integrated Care System (ICS) | RCPCH. This learning package will help you to understand how you can champion CYP engagement where you are, and we encourage you to explore what is happening locally to ensure that the voice of children and young people is being heard in service development. This learning can be linked to Domain 1 & 2 of the Progress curriculum. The RCPCH is also developing a new package of training and resources on paediatric patient safety. You can help us to provide you with the best resource we can by giving your feedback in a 5 minute, 6 question survey via this link https://forms.office.com/r/74nEBCAbZT
