POCUS protocol and techniques
Firstly, staying sterile is paramount. This is a two-person technique and you must glown and glove. Only your dominant hand on the patient will stay sterile but you must maintain the sterile field. There are sterile probe covers that live with the sterile gel on the scanner.

Secondly, we now have a new scanner and it is quick to load. We advise scanning the anatomy whilst the second person sets up and scrubs to site the UVC line. Once happy with the anatomy the other colleague can start siting the line whilst you scrub to be present for guiding the UVC into position.
