Six principles that parents would like professionals to observe:

              1. Believe the parent

              2. Empower the parent to act

              3. Acknowledge the parent’s feelings

              4. Show that you value the child

              5. Stay in touch

              6. Be upfront about service limitations 

Following these principles will enable us to deal empathetically with parents, build strong relationships and ultimately achieve the best for our children.
