About Us

The South-West Paediatric Mental Health Network was established in early 2022 by Dr James Dearden and Dr Anna Kyle, with the aim of advocating for, and delivering improvements in, the care of children and young people in the South-West of England by placing equal priority on mental wellbeing and physical health.

The role of the SWPMH network is to provide regional cohesion and leadership, enabling improvement through inspiring multi-professional collaboration and innovation across the NHSE South-West footprint.

The network now has 8 Network Leads in place from across acute and community sectors (physical and mental health), and our membership now stands at over 170 professionals across the whole region, ranging from nursing, medical, commissioning/ICB, Allied Health, education, and mental health backgrounds, with strong links into every Acute Trust in the South-West.
